UPCOMING EVENTS
OPERATION GOAT MUNCH - HAPPENING NOW
Now in our 4th year, Operation Goat Munch is up and running. We have 14 goats on site munching on the weeds. They are working to reduce English ivy, poison ivy, and other detrimental invasive plants without having to use herbicides. Depending on their rate of munching we expect the goats to be on site for about 3 weeks. This spring, we will be starting a new zone and moving two goats to another high weed area off the N/S trail. Please come by and enjoy the goats, we love sharing them with the community. When you visit please follow these rules.
DO NOT feed the goats. Other foods can upset their stomach and we need them to focus on the weeds.
DO NOT pet the goats. They will be covered in poison ivy oils, which can cause a rash or illness in humans. We also need them to focus on munching, and not spending too much time seeking affection from their adoring fans.
DO NOT lean on the fence or enter the goat munch zone. This is for your safety and to maintain the integrity of the fence for the goats.
DO take photos and bring your friends!
DO take a walk in the woods on the open trails
DO pick up any litter you may find, especially near the fence.
DO consider donating to help us cover the costs of the project paid for completely by SWCA:
